Magister Gauen of the Ivory Tower wishes to perform an in-depth study of the Sea of Spores. He asks that you bring him 50 carnivore spores and 50 herbivorous spores. Perhaps he would settle for just 50 of one type... Hunt rotting trees and spore zombies.

- Talk to MagisterGauen.
- Hunt Rotting tree and Spore Zombie to collect
Herbivorous Spore x50 and 
Carnivore Spore x50 (Perhaps he would settle for just 50 of one type). - Go back to MagisterGauen for the reward If you have collectedHerbivorous Spore x50 and Carnivore Spore x50, then you can get a choice:
- a random amount of adena (
Adena x10400, Adena x20950, Adena x44000), when you select "All of that trouble and you aren't even going to look at them?"
- 35000 EXP, 2600 SP, when you select "Put down the pouches"
If you have collected only Herbivorous Spore x50, then you will receive:
- 24500 EXP
If you have collected only Carnivore Spore x50, then you will receive:
- 1820 SP
